midwife
Basically, every pregnant person is entitled to midwifery care from the beginning of pregnancy. The costs for this are covered by health insurance.
I am also happy to support you if you are adopting a baby or taking in a foster child.
Contact a midwife as early as possible.

DESIRE TO HAVE CHILDREN
- Consultation
Even before pregnancy or when you are planning to have children, I can provide you with advice, for example, in addition to treatment at a fertility clinic. Consultation for those wishing to have children is part of the midwife’s field of work but is not covered by your health insurance.
Cost: €20.70 per started 30 minutes
PREGNANCY
- Prenatal Check-Ups
I offer prenatal check-ups during pregnancy. These check-ups are conducted every 4 weeks until the 32nd week of pregnancy and then every 2 weeks until the estimated due date. You can choose to have your check-ups with your gynecological practice, your midwife, or both in alternation.
Prenatal check-ups include monitoring blood pressure, urine tests, observing weight trends, and the growth of the uterus and child. I will palpate to check the baby’s position in the womb and listen to the baby’s heartbeat using a Pinard stethoscope or Dopton/fetal Doppler. I can also perform the necessary blood draws and lab tests as part of prenatal care.
Please note: I cannot perform ultrasound examinations!
Cost: Covered by health insurance
POSTPARTUM
- Postpartum Visits
After the birth of your baby, I will visit you regularly at home during the first 12 weeks, monitoring the postpartum recovery process, the baby’s development, and providing assistance with breastfeeding or feeding. I am also your point of contact for any questions or concerns.
Depending on availability and individual arrangements, I offer support following an outpatient birth. I can perform the pulse oximetry screening and the blood test for the newborn metabolic screening.
Cost: Covered by health insurance
- Consultation – Breastfeeding and Child Nutrition
Until the end of the breastfeeding period, or for non-breastfed children up to the end of their first year, I can provide you with advice on breastfeeding and your child’s nutrition. This can include consultation on starting solid foods or weaning.
Cost: Covered by health insurance
